ENABLE Scotland is a dynamic and vibrant organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities.

We are looking to recruit a male* Personal Assistant to support a young man in the Crieff area. *Qualifies under section 7(2) (b) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975).


This young man is very active and independent. He requires assistance with his physical needs and to fully participate in his community. Flexibility in approach to work is imperative and a driving licence is essential ( car ownership is preferred but not essential).

You should have excellent communication skills, a young at heart approach, and a good sense of humour. You should also be motivated, creative, enthusiastic, sporty and have a positive and flexible outlook to your work. In addition you should be able to work on your own initiative and be flexible as evening and weekend work will be required.

Experience is preferred but not essential, if you have the right attitude we can provide the appropriate training. Applicants must share our values and be able to work well in a team and on their own. It is also essential that applicants have a positive outlook and are keen to promote new ideas for those we support.

GBP7.80 per hour, plus Aberdeen City Allowance Payment

Description:
We are looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to support an individual who lives within the Mastrick - North Field Area

This role is involves supporting a fun loving young man, who lives in his own home. He enjoys a high standard of living and accesses many facilities in the local community and requires support from his Personal Assistant team on a 24 hour basis. It is desirable that you will have a good knowledge of the local area with strong abilities in community connecting and inclusive networking to support this gentleman in meeting his outcomes.

You should be experienced in dealing with the challenges that life brings on a day to day basis and have a professional approach to your work with the ability to take a light hearted view at times. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to delivering support. An interest in out door activities would be desirable in order to support this young man to live an active lifestyle. Patience and a friendly approach is also essential.

Experience of working with people with learning disabilities would be an advantage. A knowledge and understanding of autism and positive behaviour support is also desirable. However, if you have the right attitude we can provide the appropriate training. Applicants must share our values and be able to work well in a team and on their own. A driving licence is essential although access to a car is not.

The hourly rate of GBP7.80 has an additional Aberdeen City Weighting of GBP0.60 which will take this hourly rate to GBP8.40
