My Client is urgently seeking an experienced Linux DevOps Engineer with a good understanding of PHP and Apache to join a growing, dynamic globally focussed business. The successful DevOps Engineer will ideally have demonstrable experience of Linux and solid experience of installing, using and maintaining company workstations, servers and network. You will implement improvements to existing systems and working practices, design and build new systems, and help and train colleagues in the use of the systems you build and support.
This role will including working with development and Infrastructure teams and you will act as a liaison between the two.
Skill requirements:
Demonstrable DevOps experience
Demonstrable Linux Sys Admin experience
Extensive LAMP knowledge
Experience with Linux and commercial Firewalls
Understanding of security best practices
PHP development experience - an understanding of the development process
SQL/MYSQL skills
Knowledge of Apache
Experience of VMware/KVM or other virtual environment
Experience in architecting for Amazon Web Services (EC2 & EBS, S3, Glacier, VPC, RDS, IAM, Route 53) or other cloud services
Experience with Puppet
Strong communication skills
A passion for delivering innovative products
Experience with software versioning tools
Knowledge of the following would be an advantage:
Experience with Cisco routers and switches
Experience with Windows and Mac environment
Experience delivering high availability application
