As a leading Graduate recruiter in the education sector, Academics work with a number of fantastic primary and secondary schools across London and as such are always looking to recruit ambitious, enthusiastic and dedicated graduates looking to kick start their career path into teaching.

I recruit for a number of Primary and Secondary schools in the South East London boroughs Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich and Lewisham. My client schools embrace the idea of taking on committed individuals to join their support staff working as learning support and teaching assistants.

I am also recruiting for SEN positions, which are ideal to gain vital 1:1 experience in order to become an Education Psychologist in the future

With a high success rate of placing graduates into teaching assistant roles, through Academics you will be afforded the chance to build on that vital pre PGCE experience all the while receiving unparalleled support and guidance within a nurturing school environment - the perfect training ground for you to perfect your skills and develop your knowledge of supporting young people in education.

Over the last 8 years Academics have paved the way for many graduates to build links and strong relationships in our client school with great success. As a result we get to hear a multitude of success stories from our teaching assistants. Approximately 80% of those we place go on to complete their PGCE placement, many have been invited onto Teach First and School Direct programmes and some have even completed their teacher training and gone back to the school they were placed in as a fully qualified teacher.

Sound good? Then what does it take to become an Academics teaching assistant in one of my South East London schools?

The Teaching Assistant positions in our schools are ideal for recent graduates that hold a 2:1 degree or higher and have some previous experience working with young people in a support capacity - this could be volunteering in schools or youth camps/clubs, tutoring, mentoring or perhaps teaching overseas.

Most important is a passion for helping children to succeed in their education and a genuine excitement to go the extra mile in your teaching assistant role, becoming an integral part of the school support staff and community.
