Java Developer (Mid & Senior Level)

The Company

Our client, a major Glasgow based technology employer has exclusively commissioned 9-20 to source talent for an exciting and rapidly expanding area of the business. This is an excellent opportunity to shape a large-scale Greenfield project using cutting edge technology and adopting the latest agile methodologies.

The Role

The team has been tasked with defining and implementing a bespoke solution and associated services across creation, capture, storage, retention, search and retrieval of documents stored to support a major arm of the business. The team additionally provides solutions for content management; storage and retrieval of structured and unstructured data; supporting multiple lines of business, allowing for timely, consolidated, consistent and accurate identification and consumption of documents and relevant content by authorized internal and external parties.

The successful applicant will be responsible for developing strategic applications to electronically store client documents, extract relevant content and metadata, and allow operations to maintain details. These documents are required to address Fed requirements to produce legal agreement information by material entity, on a timely basis, including parties to the agreement, key terms, and interdependencies.

About You

The successful applicant will likely have the following experience and skill set:

• Strong Software Engineering background in Java, J2EE and knowledge of OO Design Patterns.
• Hands on experience of Spring, Hibernate/iBatis.
• Strong design, coding, testing and debugging skills.
• Working Knowledge of NoSQL Databases.
• Experience of Flash Builder.
• Experience of Ext JS and/or HTML5 UI Web Technologies.
• Strong working knowledge of XML and related technologies, JAXB, DOM, SAX.
• Comfortable and confident in both Windows and Unix/Linux environments.
• Solid experience with Ant/Maven within a Continuous Integration environment.
• Thorough understanding of separation of layers between transport & data access, business logic, and presentation technologies.
• Demonstrable experience with unit testing.
• Strong delivery focused attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a globally distributed team.
• Experience of working in an Agile development environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
