My client a leading supplier of software solutions within the public sector requite a Database & Data migration Consultant to work as part of a service delivery team implementing software with externals clients, with the focus on the migration of data into SQL Server using SSIS.

Tasks:

Write scripts, and SSIS packages to migrate customer data from disparate sources in to the desired formats.
Work with customer team to develop and agree data migration specifications.
Lead and chair customer workshops specifically around data migration.
Provide onsite and remote consultancy services and support for customers during implementation, post live and on an ad-hoc basis.
Take ownership of each implementation they are working on and to strive to make the implementation as successful as possible for the customer.
Install Software and upgrade Software as required in line with installation guidelines.
Produce and maintain documentation to high standards for both internal and customer use, including user literature, configuration documentation and technical specifications.
Adhere to agreed project plans and escalate issues affecting project delivery to the Project Manager.

Strong interpersonal skill, working equally well as part of a team or alone with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Working knowledge of a range of Microsoft Products including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project etc
Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012.
Strong knowledge of developing queries, stored procedures and functions within SQL Server.
A full understanding of XML, HTML and working with Web Services.
Experience with and ability to develop SSIS packages to carry out data migration in to MS SQL databases
