Today that is represented in our key role delivering the Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carrier and our provision of advanced radio equipment to all of the Royal Navy's surface combatants.
Join our Mechanical Design team in Templecombe and you'll stretch your design expertise in a collaborative environment working on subsea equipment. As a senior member of the team, you will help shape the function as it grows as well as developing yourself across a range of projects from start to finish.
Key responsibilities
• Taking a hands-on approach to designing that meet client needs and best practice standards
• Working collaboratively with production and procurement to produce cost effective, easy to manufacture design solutions.
• Applying your technical expertise and project knowledge to identify and act on opportunities to drive cost efficiencies through the application of products
• Providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure we achieve the best possible solution whilst fostering an open and encouraging team environment
• Managing a varied and challenging workload throughout the full project lifecycle.
Skills, qualifications and experience
• Experience designing for platform installation, assembly, mould tooling and the design of lifting equipment
• Knowledge of and producing key manufacturing drawings
• Genuine and demonstrable creativity tempered by strong organisational skills and well-rounded communication and relationship building abilities
• Solid experience using CAD design tools ideally Pro-Engineer
• HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
