Join our shared accounting services team in Crawley for an opportunity to support an area of the business overheads. Working together with shared accounting services collaboratively with an experienced team, you will understand and define customer requirements and put in place the actions to meet these. You will also play a pivotal role in providing accurate, timely and reliable overhead information and analysis to the business. This role is a rare change for a highly motivated individual to take on a role that has fantastic potential to expand and develop to cover further areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Support monthly overhead reviews with the department managers, ensure control of overhead costs, comparisons between actual and budget, identifying and analysing anomalies, defining actions and ensuring resolution
• Responsibility for the month end overheads for the Thales business unit, review of accruals and postings by the shared accounting services centre
• Challenge managers with regard to Overhead performance against targets and KPI's and support action setting and decision making
• Providing specific analytical reports to managers
• Support the annual budget process for the cost centres or business teams assigned
• Provide re-forecasts of Overheads as required for the cost centres or bushiness teams assigned.
Skills, qualifications and experience
• Strong Analytical skills, a tight degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Solid Excel, financial modelling skills
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both within the finance community and across the wider business
• Ideally of graduate calibre and part qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
• Demonstrate experience of a broad range of management accounting experience with some overheads experience/knowledge.
