As an engineer in our software team you will be the primary interface between the system team and the software design team. By interpreting the system requirements and original customer requirements you will define and flow down the software requirements to the software design team. In addition you will advise the systems team on software capability and advise on any design requirements that cannot be made by software alone.
Key responsibilities
• Capturing customer requirements, and in the absence of clearly defined specifications be able to understand the customer's underlying goals in order propose software requirements
• Liaising with space system architects or external system providers to define software requirements and interface definitions
• Modelling system and software behaviour using Use Cases and modal software systems using UML or SysML;
• Liaising with customers and internationally based subcontractors on technical issues relating systems engineering and design
• Managing the delivery of allocated work packages within complex programmes;
• Undertake the specification, design, implementation, test and integration of software in line with space or aviation standards (ECSS-E-40/DO-178B/PSS-05);
Skills, qualifications and experience
• Familiarity with systems and software-level requirements capture, analysis and verification techniques
• Experienced in developing software using agile, use-case driven development methods and a range of desk top applications
• In-depth working knowledge of desktop application development using C# / .NET
• Exposure to a variety of development platforms and languages and a proven ability to quickly learn to work with new technologies
• Proven ability to work independently and use own initiative to identify and clarify and agree scope of tasks
