Key responsibilities:
• The Technical Solutions Manager (TSM) will be responsible for the development and delivery of technical product and system development strategies
• Engage with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure robust, funded and approved roadmaps are created.
• Acting as the technical authority within Thales Transportation Systems for specific UK market technical requirements,
• support bids and projects with the provision of technical information, technical documentation and technical support relating to products and systems, including detailed product development road-maps and version release plans.
• Develop and deliver technical product and system development strategies (product technical roadmaps) that meet UK market needs and relevant standards;

Skills, experience and qualifications:
• With a proven background in technical management, candidates will be confident being in a customer facing role within the UK transportation market. Applicants will demonstrate specific sector knowledge, in particular working with railway operating companies, including infrastructure operating companies, e.g. Network Rail / London Underground, train operating companies and freight operating companies, and demonstrate considerable experience of respective standards, delivery, approvals and acceptance processes.
• Proven technical solution definition and delivery track record in transportation systems of any kind and a good level of understanding of existing railway solutions and products, especially communication and supervision systems;
• Proven experience in the development and delivery of safe, high availability, resilient and secure solutions, concepts, engineering principals and processes;
• Experience of identification, evaluation and decomposition of customer technical requirements
Desirable
Demonstrable awareness/familiarity/knowledge of the following systems:
• Backbone communications systems, e.g. Fixed Transmission Networks, Gigabit Ethernet
• Operational Control Centres, including:
• SCADA
• Telephony
• CCTV
• Radio Communications, e.g. GSM-R, TETRA
• Broadband Communications, e.g. 802.11
• Station Management Systems, including:
• Help Points
• Passenger Information Systems
• PA
• CCTV

Skills, experience and qualifications:
