Join our commercial team in Cheadle working on a variety of bids and projects across our maritime mission systems department. The Segment at Cheadle covers sales of above water systems and under water systems for submarines, surface ships and airborne. Working together with the Capture Leader, Bid Manager, Project Manager and other members you will be responsible for submitting commercial offers, quotations, proposals, drafting suitable terms and conditions, support to negotiation, accepting contracts and orders.

Key responsibilities



• Draft, propose, generate, negotiate agreements, contracts, orders, proposals, quotations, changes and terms and conditions in accordance with the agreed strategy and customer requirement
• Supporting the winning of bids and close support to Capture Leaders, Bid Managers and Project Managers
• Undertaking a commercial review of the full suite of proposal documents and submission of proposal
• Support the development and implementation of the negotiation strategy, including payment profiles and associated terms to meet the cash flow requirements of the business
• Manage the Contract baseline and evolutions along with monitoring contract performance
• Effective management of contractual disputes



Skills, qualifications and experience

• Solid experience drafting and negotiation of contracts and agreements ideally within the defence sector
• Preparation of commercial responses to contract terms and conditions
• Experience in preparing and implementing bids, orders, commercial responses
• Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to identify change and support change process to improve effectiveness of the business and/or commercial function
• A relevant degree or equivalent experience will be considered
• Ability to interface well and influence effectively at all levels including internally and externally with customers, partners and suppliers.
