Description:
Rail Engineering Apprentices

Greater London

The technologies we develop at Thales Transportation tell you when your tube is running late and allow transport workers across London to communicate with each other, whether they're in a high-tech control room or a hundred feet underground. Ultimately, what we do makes London more connected. It's immensely complicated and challenging work. So for people like you, who are passionate about technology and engineering, an apprenticeship with us is an amazing opportunity.

The Transportation team is looking for original thinkers who share our passion for all things technical and engineering to take advantage of our three-year apprenticeships. Splitting your time between classroom learning at Prospects College in Basildon and hands-on placements as part of the Thales team, you'll work towards a BTEC in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and a NVQ in Engineering Maintenance. You'll also be assigned a mentor and a buddy to turn to within the business, plus enjoy guidance from the education experts at college, so you'll have all the support you need to develop a successful career in rail engineering.

Please note that all applications must be made via the following link (if for any reason the link doesn't work from your current browser window, please copy and paste the link into a new window) :

•Gaining and maintaining your health and safety and access certificates, while working safely at all times.

Experience, qualifications and skills
•Five GCSEs at grades A*- C, including Maths, English and a science subject
•Be at least 18 years old or turn 18 within the first six months of joining the programme
•Be a real problem solver with a genuine interest in technology and engineering
•Have what it takes to work well as part of a team, but be able to take the lead when you have to.

In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
