Senior Applications Engineer - Sensors - Heidelberg

This is a very unique opportunity for a German speaking Analog IC Design or Applications Engineer to be part of a magnetic sensor development team located in the scenic town Heidelberg, Germany.

In this position, you will be working closely with the design, technology, product/systems engineering and marketing departments to provide professional support to key European customers. You will be defining products and developing specifications for new Sensor IC Developments, negotiating for new projects and designing chip architecture. You will own the development of new sensor products and will be completely knowledgeable on Sensor architecture. You will have technical discussions with customers and will get involved in product definition. Although this is an internal Applications role, client visits will be required.

As a Sensor Applications Engineer, you will:

*Participate in the definition of magnetic sensors.
*Review customer technical requirements and write up sensor IC specifications.
*Support the IC architecture development activities for magnetic circuit design as well as system level simulations.
*Provide technical support to European customers through laboratory measurements and through simulations.
*Document customer communication through technical reports.

The successful candidate will be MSc degree qualified (Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Microelectronics) plus have a minimum of 5 years experience in Analog IC Design or Applications ideally in the field of magnetic sensor development and semiconductor/thin film technology. Knowledge in some of the following areas are also required; Characterization of Analog / Digital circuits in laboratory, programming (Verilog, C++, MatLab, LabWindows) and/or semiconductor physics. Experience in MEMs could also be of interest.

As you will be the primary interface between customers you will have excellent communications skills in German and English to be considered for this position.

This role would very much suit an Analog IC Design who is looking to move into more of a customer facing role and/or someone who can fit in the role between applications and systems engineering. The role requires a unique combination of a strong electronics background and understanding the applications of the customer.

The location of Heidelberg offers excellent facilities including a very good university, superb schooling options, close proximity to the third busiest international airport in Europe and the fifth largest city of Germany, Frankfurt city.
