As a Mixed ASIC and FPGA Design Engineer based in Bristol, you'll design, specify and implement designs to relevant European Space Agency flight standards in accordance with relevant Thales Quality Management Standards following relevant procedures & processes. You'll be joining a team of electronics architects and FPGA designers, to work on qualifying a piece of state of the art electronics for its first use in space.
Key responsibilities
• Delivering defined tasks to budget & schedule
• Derivation of unit or board level requirements
• Generating specification, architecture and development plans
• Analysing and identifying developments required to support flight development
• Implementing and testing hardware in accordance with relevant standards
• Supporting hardware capability lead in optimising approaches to engineering processes reuse of design modules and development and verification of.
Skills, qualifications and experience
• Degree qualified with an engineering bias
• Ability to start from customer requirements and be closely involved with the FPGA/ASIC design and development right through to final delivery
• A working knowledge ASIC design, both analogue and digital is an advantage to permit meaningful interactions with other design team members and subcontractors
• An understanding of chip fab process and custom design tools would be desirable.
