Thales Information Systems (TIS) Network and Security team are looking for 2 experienced and talented Network Engineers based out of Doncaster or Crawley to maintain and develop our internal and external network infrastructures. You will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day management, fault resolution and administration of Thales UK network infrastructure and provide advice to subordinates. To join our forward thinking and collaborative team you must have experience working with Secure WAN, LAN technologies with experience of Cisco and ideally certifications in Cisco or equivalent. Due to the business facing nature of these roles you must have strong interpersonal and communication skills in addition to solid experience of network design, operation and support. Key responsibilities:
• Responsible for daily operational aspects of the converged Network solutions within the ITO managed services environment.
• Develop, implement and document Converged Network Architecture standards aligned to corporate standards and as part of the wider ITO Architecture standards.
• Maintain ITO architecture standards in the converged Network arena.
• Support the Team Lead in managing the deployment of resources to implement projects and enable Service Delivery.
• Create and maintain accurate records of Thales Converged Network Infrastructure services and assets, including documentation
• Ensure continuous improvement in meeting SLA's on the delivery of services to Thales through proactive monitoring.
• Supporting the LAN / WAN in a Predominantly Cisco deployed Solution consisting of Cisco Networking Routing & Switching , Network Monitoring , Firewall Knowledge , Nexus Data Centre , Network Troubleshooting.
Key skills and experience required:
• Network experience ideally in the secure communications or related industry
• Experience working in a large complex business environment
• Experience of network design, operation and support
• An understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models
• Demonstrable understanding of secure networking products
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
• Eligible to obtain SC level security clearance
• Degree or equivalent in a related discipline
