Primary Purpose of the Role:
The purpose of this role is to provide Project Management leadership to ensure the successful delivery of a project(s) through one or more of the key lifecycle phases from feasibility to closeout. The role will effectively run a key project or portfolio of projects for Thales working with one of our key customers London Underground. The role will provide the overall project management rigour, change control, commercial awareness & stakeholder management to complement the existing technical management skills within the team.

Programme Manager London Underground Teams Project Team Capture Lead Regular liaison with Bids & Project Management (BPM) function Occasional liaison with other business functions, including Technical, Finance, Commercial, Legal, Quality, Health & Safety, Operations
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Facilitate Project Execution and the production of various feasibility statements Actively manage both Risk and Opportunities Facilitate Project Planning Report to Management on the progress and performance of the project Manage sub-contractors, ensuring flowthrough of customer requirements and supplier performance Manage and motivate project team Manage all project stakeholders; ensuring strong communications are established and maintained Ensure a relevant Project Management Plan complete with resource plan fully maintained Ensure appropriate Project Governance Ensure all Project activities undertaken comply with the relevant Thales Chorus processes
Key performance Indicators against Responsibilities and Tasks:
Ensure all aspects of programme governance are in place:
Budget management - margin and revenue maintained Planning - Delivery schedule maintained Quality - Metrics available demonstrating adherence to Quality plan Skills
Essential
Proven Leader within a matrix style organisation
Ability to manage a portfoilio of projects that will range from simple feasibility to full implementation.
Customer-focused balanced with recognising the need for governance
Ability to establish and meet deadlines, multi-task and prioritise
Excellent communicator
Strong planning and delivery orientation
Commercial / financial / business acumen
Willingness to work in a collaborative working environment
Desirable
In depth knowledge of a range of transportation solutions, including train control, communication and safety systems
Experience:
Essential
Experience in Project Managing projects > GBP10m
Full business lifecycle management, including capture, qualification and developing capture plans and winning strategies
Extensive client and stakeholder management
A "strategic approach" to dealing with partners, clients and staff.
A positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
An ability to embrace and encourage change.
Experience of working across boundaries, including knowledge of commercial management, best practice supply chain and finance functions.
The ability to interface with clients at a senior level

Prince/APM qualified
Engineering or Business Degree/diploma
