Main Purpose of Role/Position Summary

Ideal candidate must have extensive hands on experience in implementing and delivering comprehensive automation platforms and strategy across various technology stacks and using many different testing toolkits and frameworks.

You oversee the automation approach taken by product teams and actively work within these teams to lead creation of both the automation strategy and the automation framework for each product. This is a hands on role that will need to develop the testing framework and scenarios using industry standard tech and tooling (CodedUI, Selenium/WebDriver, nUnit, CppUnit, Specflow). Experience of using the TFS platform for QA automation is highly beneficial. Additionally, experience of using the MS performance testing tooling and MS Test Manager in particular, are highly beneficial.

The role will involve some travel and, as mentioned, is primarily a heads on lead role.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Define and deliver the automation test strategy and suite for each of the products. This includes hands on development of test automation architecture, strategy and definition through models, patterns and industry best practice and tooling.
  • Lead automation best practice and approach to product through internal training of QA teams and creation of supporting collateral.
  • Work with performance test leads to performance testing strategy and automation test suites and framework according to roadmap schedule.
  • Develop automation QA metrics for product teams in conjunction with process services team and using the established TFS toolkit.
  • Act as an advocate for internal customers & stakeholders throughout all stages of a program
 

Key Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Hands on experience of highly scalable, enterprise grade test suites and platforms using Development Design approaches (Reuseability, requirements driven) in various technologies (CodedUI, Selenium/WebDriver, nUnit, CppUnit, Specflow, etc.)
  • Experience of TFS in conjunction with Microsoft Test Manager is highly beneficial.
  • Extensive understanding of software development. Experience in development roles is highly beneficial, especially C#/C++.
  • Dynamic, results-oriented, detail-driven automation lead with at least several years of hands on automation framework development.
  • Advanced understanding of and experience with Product Development Lifecycle, as well as advanced SDLC approaches (Continuous Delivery, DevOps, etc.)
  • Impeccable communication and cross-team coordination skills. Solid oral, written, presentation as well as strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • Excellent facilitation skills, with ability to lead by serving.
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and energetic environment.
  • Experience of large scale, globally disperse teams is beneficial
