A new opportunity has arisen for a Facilities Manager to work for an adult hospice in Elland. You will be working full time on a permanent basis and will be met with a salary of £27,051 - £31,825 p.a.

The role
As Facilities Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of premises and facilities for the hospice and hospice support, ensuring service meets the needs of the organisation, staff, patients and visitors.

Your other responsibilities will include:
• Managing planned and responsive maintenance across all sites.
• Ensuring all tools and machinery associated with premises and garden maintenance are maintained and safe to operate.
• Developing and managing maintenance schedules for all clinical and non-clinical equipment.
• Managing contracts including those relating to electricity, gas, water and telecommunications, window cleaning, external and internal decoration, clinical and non-clinical waste disposal, internal cleaning, gardening and maintenance of leased and owned equipment.
• Managing planned and responsive housekeeping services, including laundry services.
• Leading the development of an adequate and efficient stock control system of non-clinical supplies to ensure that there is a clear process for stock management.
• Managing and analysing budgets, addressing and reporting on reasons for significant over and under-spends, assisting in budget setting.

What you’ll need
• A minimum qualification of City & Guilds at part 2 or BTEC HNC in a Facilities related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience of managing facilities maintenance and repair services.
• Experience of managing contractors.
• Knowledge of IOSH and COSHH regulations.
• Up to date knowledge of Health & Safety.
• Knowledge and awareness of estates legislation.
• Full current driving licence.

The company
Our client is an adult hospice providing specialist care for people in Calderdale who have an advanced, progressive and life-limiting illness. They aim to care for the whole person to give them the best possible quality of life and provide support for their families and carers. They have a 12 bed in-patient unit and a Day Hospice that was expanded in 2012, allowing more people to benefit from health, social, psychological and spiritual support.
