Are you a CIPD member looking for a new HR opportunity? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity for a HR Manager to lead the HR function of an adult hospice in Elland.
The role
As a HR Manager you will provide an engaging, high-quality, proactive and responsive HR service to the hospice. This will include ensuring that services are offered to high standards and that they are run smoothly, efficiently and economically.
Your other responsibilities will include:
• Effectively developing and implementing HR strategy, business planning and Organisational Development in line with the key priorities of the organisation.
• Determining the short and long term priorities for the HR team, having consideration for planned and likely changes in legislation, relevant regulations and other internal and external forces.
• Monitoring and reporting progress against the HR business plan and key performance indicators.
• Managing the HR budget ensuring expenditure levels are coordinated, monitored, managed and effective.
• Providing effective support, training and coaching to employees, managers and volunteers.
• Leading the continued development, maintenance and monitoring of all workforce planning, recruitment, retention, succession planning and talent management.
• Manage the HR team to ensure that consistent, high quality advice and support is offered to all Hospice staff, volunteers and external agencies.
• Maintaining and developing strong and effective links with the local community particularly within the field of palliative care.
What you’ll need
• A chartered member of CIPD.
• Experience of leading and developing a HR function.
• Up to date knowledge of employment legislation.
• A good level of knowledge regarding strategic and business planning.
• A proven track record in successful employee engagement.
• A proven track record in dealing with employee relations and associated case work.
The company
Our client is an adult hospice providing specialist care for people in Calderdale who have an advanced, progressive and life-limiting illness. They aim to care for the whole person to give them the best possible quality of life and provide support for their families and carers. They have a 12 bed in-patient unit and a Day Hospice that was expanded in 2012, allowing more people to benefit from health, social, psychological and spiritual support.
