Job Title: SQL Database Administrator

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD1

Salary: £35,000.00 - £40,000.00 dependent on experience

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.  Based on 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Job Role:

The company seeks to recruit a competent and professional DBA to manage maintain and support all databases and supporting systems.  The successful candidate can expect to take responsibility for all functions associated with design, implementation and maintenance of SQL server databases including optimisation, security, back-up’s, logging, reporting and recovery procedures.

This high profile position will ultimately take responsibility for the optimal performance, integrity and security of all databases whilst ensuring end user satisfaction.

The successful SQL Database Administrator will have a strong database background, SQL Server knowledge and will be comfortable working independently and to targets.

Other core requirements will include:

• Extensive experience of Microsoft SQL Server (2000, 2005, 2008, 2012)
• Experience of performance tuning and optimising SQL Server installations, including T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing and end-to-end architecture
• Excellent understanding of database management tasks and security e.g. backup, recovery, cloning, replication, etc.
• Experience with the SQL Server stack, including SSIS and SSRS
• Experience of Database migration and Schemas
• Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills and abilities

Qualifications / Essential skills:

• A good degree or equivalent qualifications
• Experience in a similar role or equivalent
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with individuals at all levels
• Confident and self-motivated
• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Ability to multitask and prioritise own case loads 
• Methodical and logical approach

The Candidate:

This position would suit someone with SQL DBA experience or transferrable SQL Server and Database Administration skills from similar roles such as Database Management or Architecture.
