Person Specification
The purpose of each teacher and support member of staff is to enable children to learn and achieve within a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum – a curriculum which sets out to develop children’s physical functioning, communication skills and independence through their daily educational experiences. You will need to be a talented ASD / SEN Maths Teacher who has experience working in an inner city school and worked with ASD and SEN pupils before. You will provide the tools and abilities to use a positive approach into all of your lessons and communications whilst representing this forward thinking school. You should be able to utilise modern and topical resources to keep your lessons refreshing and innovative, keeping students intellectually stimulated at all times. We want to see SEN teachers with the drive to create an open forum of learning through motivational and inspirational teaching practices, allowing for increased learning and attainment levels.

As an ASD / SEN Maths Teacher at this school you will be joining the school as part of the well supported Maths faculty and you will be enjoying the help of a skilful and motivated Teaching Assistant. In this post you will be working in a very well equipped department; you will have access to interactive whiteboards which will allow you to teach fun and interesting lessons on a consistent basis to small classes of between 6 - 8. Day-to-day, you will be teaching with the freedom and invention that comes from a truly creative department philosophy. Part of your role will include extending your knowledge of good teaching practice through a series of continued professional development opportunities. The Head Teacher is keen to support new SEN teachers and will assign you a successful and approachable mentor who is a very experienced SEN teacher.
