Are you an experience Supply Chain and Procurement professional, looking for a new challenge with a very prestigious client within Rail and Automotive? Then this is an invaluable opportunity for the right candidate.

This particular part of the business are specialists in Rail operations working with high value clients across the Rail industry. I am looking for a Supply Chain and/or Procurement Operations Manager to join the team of a rapidly expanding business.

THE JOB:

Reporting to the Procurement Director, this position will be based in the Procurement Department in Doncaster with some supplier, operational and customer work and UK travel building value added relationships.

You will be responsible for both Strategic and Operational activities relating to over 200 suppliers and 70,000 parts with a varied portfolio of products and senior management responsibilities.

The main responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:

Effectively lead and manage a large team consisting of global supplier, product and stock planning, inventory management and business reporting in order to ensure a skilled, highly competent and motivated team to consistently deliver its agreed targets and support business growth.
Improve the Customer experience through the reduction of non-value added activities through the use of lean principles, systems development, automation and process innovation.
Support the business secure rapid and sustained growth by providing supply chain, forecasting, systems and analytical support to the Global Business Development and UEP teams.
Significantly reduce the volume of manual transactional processes using lean tools, process redesign and automation to free resource for business development and growth.
Work across the business with senior stakeholders in other functions to develop and deliver cohesive and compelling supply solutions to key customers
Develop, introduce and sustain an agreed Procurement Operations business model and strategy to support the delivery of the clients 5 year business plan.

THE CANDIDATE:

Educated to degree level or equivalent and will have demonstrable experience of working in a senior Operations, Supply Chain or Procurement role.
CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualified or the willingness to work towards CIPS is desired, as is the ability to demonstrate significant improvements across a complex and fast moving Supply Chain.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of working within a culture of continuous improvement, previous experience of implementing innovative Supply Chain practice and a proven ability to lead and motivate a large team.
Excellent interpersonal, influencing and organisational skills are required. Knowledge of MS Office is essential, whilst SAP experience is desirable
