Solution Architect - Based in Bournemouth
An exciting opportunity is available within Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) Treasury Services International Account Services (IAS) Group. The IAS QA group requires an expert Vice President (VP) level Automation Architect who will responsible for defining and delivering the test automation strategy and processes across multiple applications and programmes within the group. The successful candidate will receive an excellent remuneration package at market competitive rates.
CIB Technology- Treasury Services - International Account Services (IAS)
The IAS Technology group are responsible for the a developing and implementing banking software for the International Demand Deposit Accounting (iDDA) platform and coupled middleware applications. International DDA holds all cash accounts needed for banking products including core cash accounting, liquidity products and statement processing. The core application is developed on a T24 banking software that provides an Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) across 90+ branches across the globe. The group has multi-phased software development programmes running concurrently throughout the year. The group is located in Bournemouth-UK and Bangalore-India.
IAS Automation Architect
The IAS Quality Assurance Group is looking for Vice President level Architect who has 12+ years experience as Automation Architect or similar roles as Solution Architect with demonstrable background in Object Orientated Programming and SQL Programming. The candidate must have solid experience of messaging platforms and an expert in XML and relational databases. The Automation Architect involving defining and maintaining the automation strategy for the group, coaching and developing the team and implementing strong standards on best practice on script quality, and configuration management and governance of standards.
The candidate will be a thought leader in automation of and expert in IBM Rational Test Workbench Test Automation or equivalent and have a strong object orientated programmingSQL Programming background and expert in relational database and data driven approaches to automation. The candidate must have experience of business rule driven and message based applications.

Key Responsibilities of the Solution Architect:
• Define, refine and implement automation strategy, including best practice, maintainability and standards for the Rational Test Workbench automation suite for the T24 Application
• Define and own the data management and configuration management approach of all automation assets ensuring reuse and modularization of all assets
• Provide technical expertise on writing performant and robust scripts to deliver both functional and non functional requirements
• Review and sign off all automation artifacts ensuring appropriate script proving and standards have been followed and integrated successfully into the Rational Test Workbench project.
• Produce and deliver training and knowledge transition material for all joiners within the team.
• Become SME for the T24 application, understanding the database and build out SQLXML repository to effectively exercise and validate the application.
• Act as deputy for the Automation Manager and assume onsite line management responsibility.
• As subject matter expert, provide technical guidance on Rational Test Workbench, SQL Programming and configuration management and data management techniques and best practice.
• Establish a strong culture of team work , through effective communication and chair monthly meetings with the India team, to identify issues improvement areas, gaps in knowledge and cross team collaboration
• The candidate must have experience in a solution automation architect role for business rule driven message based application. The candidate must have proven capability in building data driven automation approach for functionally complex banking inancial application using Rational Test Workbench or equivalent. If the candidate experience is limited to web based or emulator automation only please do not apply.
• The candidate must have strong exposure to XML and expert in relational database and writing performant SQL . Experience of interrogating Oracle and CLOB based data types that contain XML payloads would be significant advantage.
Essential Skills required for the Solution Architect:
• Must have expert automation experience of Greenhat Tester or IBM Rational Test Workbench or equivalent
• Strong credentials in delivering data driven approach for automation for functionally complex message based applications preferably in the banking domain.
• Proven track record in building test data and configuration management approach and using test data management tools like OPTIMGrid Tools and SubversionJira.
• Strong SQL Programming experience XMLSQL skills for interrogating CLOBBLOB xml payloads
• Experience of data profiling and modelling data to meet automation test data requirements
• Good understanding of xml and service orientated protocols
• Excellent written skills and demonstrable background in producing and maintaining approach and standards deliverables for automation.
• Demonstrate experience of performing peer review and mentoring and developing technical capability of the team.
• Domain knowledge of banking sector and accounting would be an advantage
• Excellent attention to detail, and can demonstrate highly disciplined approach to quality reviews of automation assets
