Senior Project Engineer

Based in Berkshire the Senior Project Engineer will work for a leader in manufacturing high-end visual effects and editing systems for film and television. The Senior Project Engineer will provide support for a number of projects and be involved in these projects during the different phases of product initiation, planning, execution, transition to production, and product end of life. The role involves the creation of product structures using the manufacturing control system. Generating all documentation necessary for production to manufacture the product successfully within a Lean Manufacturing environment. In addition, this role will support the logging, communication, investigation and tracking of manufacturing issues to resolve problems throughout the life of the product.

As Senior Project engineer located at the company's principal manufacturing site you will also be required to provide support to those Project engineers located at the company's other engineering sites.

The Senior Project Engineer will manage change through the use, control & monitoring of

*The ECR (Engineering Change Process) between the Router group and production
*The PRF (Product Release Form) between the Router group and production for each new development.
*Concessions
*Product costing analysis
*Lean Manufacturing
*Use of company MRP (manufacturing, Resource, Planning) system
*Identify, recommend and implement positive change within the working group to;
*Enable appropriate technology, tool, workflow, process and governance improvements

To be successful in this role the Senior Project Engineer will have the following skills and experience.

* Understanding of Electronics, Firmware, Software, Mechanics, Thermal design, Regulatory compliance as applied to Electronic Products.
* Understanding of component technologies, assembly and manufacturing processes, Design for manufacture, Design for Test.
* Understanding of Purchasing systems, inventory control.
* Office skills, Use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, Lync (Skype or similar).
* Knowledge of Microsoft AX would be an advantage.
* Ability to Source new, development or alternative components required to maintain the product through its lifecycle, ensuring full compatibility for the product and making sure all necessary industry standards are maintained i.e. Rohs, WEEE, UL, EMC, etc.
