Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the QHSE Department based at the Port of Liverpool. This role will also require travel.
Role Purpose: To provide advice, guidance and direction through the administration and enforcement of Company policy on matters relating to Health, Safety and Environmental management within Peel Ports.
The role of the Health, Safety and Environment Officer will include the following responsibilities:
-Develop and provide guidance on safe systems of work and codes of practice
-Carry out various monitoring associated with the HS&E function
-Carry out detailed independent HS&E inspections
-Provide instruction and training
-Investigate incidents and accidents
-Issue and monitor the use and compliance of Permits to Work and Hot Work Permits
-Conduct audits of the Company's procedures as required
-Champion continuous improvement of HS&E and quality related performance of the business
-Liaise with enforcing authorities and regulatory bodies
Applicants interested in then role of the Health, Safety and Environment Officer should ideally possess the following skills and experience:
-Hold a NEBOSH certificate or equivalent, or studying towards
-Dynamic and self-motivated individual with a confident and approachable personality
-Willingness to travel around the North West and occasionally other parts of the UK and Ireland
-Able to multi-task and prioritise work in a fast moving environment
-Excellent communication skills
-Computer literate, fully competent with using Microsoft Office
-Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 would be desirable
-A Full valid UK Drivers Licence
