Job Purpose/Summary

The Acquisition team within Marketing is responsible for the acquisition of new members through the promotion of giffgaff's propositions. Our competitive goodybags, international calling rates and range of handsets, are all reasons we can attract new members to join us. We're looking for someone who can help drive our continued growth as we continue to innovate and show how mobile can be done better.

The Search & Content Marketing Manager will report into the Head of Acquisition and be responsible for all paid and organic search marketing to drive new member acquisition for our Free SIM, international rates and handsets propositions, as well as content generation and link building.

We need a passionate Search & Content Marketing Manager who has the knowledge and experience of paid and organic search marketing to deliver campaigns to high volume of cost effective sales. Online is at the heart of our business so a passion for improving our conversion funnel and member experience to join giffgaff is essential. You will have an interest in technology and mobile in particular which will give you the ability to see and embrace new trends and be aware of market changes. We are digitally focused, as will you be. You will be expected to communicate effectively and work closely with all internal teams and agencies.


Specific Responsibilities:

The Search & Content Marketing Manager will be an expert in search marketing. They will be responsible for devising and implementing the organic search strategy to drive search engine traffic to giffgaff.com using a multi-channel approach across giffgaff's blog, internal content platforms, PR, community and YouTube. They will oversee much of giffgaff's content production to ensure its relevance for search, managing various agencies and bloggers. Experience of managing multiple agency partners is essential, as is cross-functional working. Working closely with the CRM, brand, social and community teams they will ensure that different business areas have transparency around content in order to promote across these areas.

In addition to content and organic search the Search & Content Marketing Manager will oversee the paid search / PPC strategy ensuring orders are delivered to the required efficiency levels. Working with the media agency to constantly optimise the strategy across Free SIM, International and Handsets and improve results. They must be able to analyse large amounts of information within Adwords, Google Analytics and DS3 to ensure campaigns are performing as expected, identify issues and determine solutions with the agency where necessary.

The Search & Content Marketing Manager will have a thorough understanding of analytics, paid search platforms, SEO tools and be able to understand and interrogate data to drive improvements in search, whist identifying and executing opportunities.

Experience

- Extensive experience working in the eCommerce or acquisition team of a major consumer brand.

- Demonstrable analytical skills and ability to develop performance search marketing plans using member and market insights, and analyse campaign effectiveness/ROI.

- Extensive experience of paid search, organic search / SEO and content marketing with excellent knowledge of search marketing, up to date on the latest techniques and tools. Specifically:
a. Good experience in link building strategies and tracking of back links.
b. Knowledge of using and optimising YouTube content for search marketing
c. An understanding of HTML and JavaScript within the context of organic search.
d. Excellent understanding of leveraging engagement and amplifying content across multiple platforms

- A track record understanding and working with forums and online communities

- Excellent knowledge of the UK Mobile Industry, handsets & networks to develop industry-relevant content

- Track record of effectively delivering multiple projects simultaneously in very fast-moving hands-on environment.

- Ability to influence at all levels and work effectively across functions. Lead non-hierarchical, cross-functional working teams.

- Fluency in English and outstanding written and oral communication skills. Specifically good writing skills for blogging.
