About the role:

Our client is  committed to delivering and supporting innovative web based solutions. The portfolio of technologies is being re-vitalised and these key roles will play an important part in the success. Particular projects are likely to concentrate on our SharePoint based Virtual Learning Environment and SiteCore based web site.

You will provide the technical leadership necessary to build on the success of our existing SharePoint and/or SiteCore platforms. Extensive C# experience as well as a good appreciation of SQL is essential. Knowledge of an Agile methodology such as DSDM is desirable, as would specific Sharepoint and/or SiteCore experience.

With a degree, you will have the ability to communicate complex technical ideas to a non-technical audience. Excellent advocacy and interpersonal skills and a thorough understanding of business change processes and the systems lifecycle is essential.

Job Purpose:

Principal Accountabilities:

To deliver effective and appropriate information systems.

Provide efficient, effective and appropriate IT systems within the overall IT strategy and conforming to technical standards and roadmaps.

Lead architecture developments for systems, ensuring consistency with functional, service quality and systems management requirements. Translate logical designs into physical implementations.

Directly line manage a group of Infrastructure and Application Architects/Developers and temporary staff, including undertaking appraisals, probationary reviews, performance management, workload and absence

management.

Monitor and advise on the technical progress of projects and their impact, ensuring that co-ordination and change control is applied to technical specifications and infrastructure.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

· C#, SQL

· Proficient at developing significant system and infrastructure architectures

· Expertise in end-to-end systems development life-cycle

· Sound knowledge of change and configuration management

· Ability to combine technical competence with business and commercial awareness

· Sound knowledge of application development methods, application systems, and techniques and standards

· Ability to facilitate and communicate the analysis of business processes and changes

· Sound knowledge of ICT infrastructure, hardware configurations and infrastructure architecture

· SharePoint development

· SiteCore Content Management System

· HTML, Javascript

· Understanding of business analysis techniques, business change processes and product evaluation and selection
