Due to our success in gaining a position on the Environment Agency WEM Framework (Lot 4 - Delivery) with our joint venture company JBA Bentley Ltd we currently have vacancies for a civil/structural engineers and technicians at all levels who wish to work on a variety of challenging flood risk management projects in our Leeds and Peterborough offices.


The Position:


The posts will involve technical work on the design and appraisal of, flood defence works, retaining walls, coastal protection, culvert design and pumping station design. The post is within an existing team of engineers and hydrologists/modellers with a proven track record of delivering Flood Risk Management projects at a local and national scale. We have a number of ongoing projects involving the appraisal and detailed design of flood protection and pumping station installations.


Qualifications and Experience:


For senior positions, a first degree in civil and or structural engineering is essential. The applicant would be expected to hold membership of the ICE, IStructE, or Engineers Ireland and should be Chartered or close to Chartered status.


For other engineering roles a civil engineering degree or other relevant work experience is required, and for technician roles a strong foundation in CAD is essential, preferably with experience in flood risk management projects. Experience in 3D CAD and RC detailing would be beneficial.


If required, JBA has a structured training programme and one-to-one mentoring to assist in success at professional review.


For all roles previous professional experience is essential, preferably from a consultancy background. Knowledge of pile design, structural concrete or geotechnical design would be an advantage.
