Business Intelligence Specialist (SQL) - Knutsford

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST- DATA WAREHOUSING - SQL (2008 and 2012) - HP PPM - SSIS - GBP40K - 50K

Our Client, a leading Financial Services Company is seeking a Business Intelligence Specialist with experience in Data Warehousing, SQL 2008 and ideally 2012, MS BI Stack SSIS/SSAS/SSRS (desirable) coupled with good Datamodelling and the ability to interpret complex business requirements in to a technical solution.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities for this role will be:

* To support a global roll out project for HP PPM by developing data warehouse and reporting objects. This will involve developing table structures and data links to build and feed the environment
* Ensure all data warehouse tasks run as expected, troubleshoot where necessary.
* Lead development projects with support from junior developers.
* Maintaining own documentation to the strategic requirements.
* Supporting the development and release cycles of the warehouse capabilities.
* Responding to warehouse related incidents within agreed SLA
* To support reporting analysts with the identification and extraction of required information.

As a Data Warehouse Technical Lead, your responsibilities will include

* Reviewing requirements and building Data Warehouse objects to match the business needs
* Ownership of all developments promoted into Production Environment
* Peer review other BI developers projects.
* Create new ETL packages using SSIS
* Alter/Update existing SSIS packages
* Performance Tune and enhance existing environment
* Ownership of own technical documentation
* Undertaking parts of BAU cycles for the day to day management of the environment Performance tuning and script optimisation
* Responding to warehouse related incidents
* Provide technical guidance to other team member where required
* Support Report developers as required
* Undertake Architectural reviews and provide recommendations

Knowledge/skills

* Advanced SQL 2008 and 2012 (ideally)
* Minimum Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Db skills
* Microsoft BI Stack SSIS/SSAS/SSAS(desirable)
* Ability to interpret complex business requirements into a technical solution
* Data and Warehouse modelling
* Good Analytical skills
* Strong communication skills and customer focus
* ETL Design and Development
