Our busy London office works on a diverse range of multi-disciplinary projects and is ambitious for growth. Our London Transport team has a vacancy for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Engineer to join the Transport team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a fast-growing, multi-disciplinary infrastructure consultancy and to work on a variety of projects.

Some key projects we've recently been working on include:

  • Wellesley Road, Croydon -provided transport planning and highway engineering input for a winning entry in the Wellesley Road and Park Lane International Urban Design Competition
  • Lewisham Gateway - identification of transport and river engineering solutions that enabled the creation of new town centre public realm and space for new large-scale development
  • Thames Tideway Tunnel -led on the Transport assessment, Transport Strategy and Environmental Transport assessment for the planning application for this nationally significant infrastructure project
  • South Thamesmead Masterplan - Masterplanning, planning application and highway design work for a major urban extension;
  • North West Cambridge - masterplanning and reserved matters applications for education-led mixed-use development
  • Farringdon Surface Access Study - Assessing the impacts of the new Crossrail Station at Smithfield Market and developing new public realm strategies

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Management of small and medium scale projects and monitoring of budgets and resources
  • Technical responsibility of transport project delivery, including trip generation and highway capacity modelling, travel planning and transport strategies
  • Staff mentoring and line management responsibility
  • Liaison with clients/contractors and local/national authorities as required
  • Working collectively with other technical disciplines

To succeed in this role you'll need:

  • A Degree qualification in Transportation or Engineering
  • Ideally at least 4-5 years' experience in Transport/Engineering
  • Have good experience in transport assessments and an understanding of the core design principles
  • Experience/knowledge of junction modelling software LinSig / PICADY / ARCADY / TRANSYT
  • Be a positive and enthusiastic team player
  • Have excellent communication and technical report writing skills

An ideal candidate would have project management experience, but this is a fantastic opportunity to development your project management capability in a truly multi-disciplinary environment.
