Web Designer

DS Print Design Web is seeking an ambitious and driven Web Designer with occasional Graphic Design to join our expanding Print Media/Creative Design agency in Sheffield.

They have a large Business to Business customer base across the local area and nationally and specialise in:

- Graphic Design

- Web Design and Development

- Commercial Printing including fast turnaround digital

- Large format Posters and Banners

- Digital Printing

- Marketing Services - plans, copywriting, digital and social media marketing

Hours: Monday to Friday 9:30am – 5.30pm

Salary: £16k circa, to be reviewed after 6 months

Responsibilities

- Design, creation and project management of websites using Joomla and Magento - utilising HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL and JavaScript

- Understanding of hosting and DNS

- Manage the delivery of web design projects to brief and deadline, including the drafting of website proposals and marketing of website services

- Working in a busy website and graphic design studio designing websites and creating brochures, flyers, leaflets, folders, business stationery, re-brands, packaging, magazines, displays, website concepts signage and large format and much more

- Provide graphic support for online marketing activities such as the website, email marketing and banner advertisements

- Preparing graphic design artwork and creating print ready files

- Dealing with customers on a day to day basis by phone, email and face to face

- Supporting in development of DS marketing products

- Providing cover for Manager when out of the office or at times specified

- Taking phone messages and other tasks as required

- Some management of Graphic Designers on various projects

Requirements

- Degree (or equivalent) in a web based qualification

- Web and some Graphic Design skills

- Enthusiastic, confident, self-starter with strong teamwork and leadership skills

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects

- A good eye for detail to deliver professional and accurate artwork

- Excellent English skills - written, verbal and grammar

- Ability to communicate to a range of people by email, face to face and by telephone

- Excellent project management and communication skills

- An excellent portfolio demonstrating your proven abilities including online examples

- Understanding of preparing artwork ready for print

Software Skills Required

- Joomla, Magento, HTML, CSS, PHP and java

- Adobe Illustrator, Fireworks, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign

- CorelDraw Suite – Basic knowledge

- Microsoft Office Suite – Basic Knowledge
