Residential Child Care Officer

Due to continued expansions, Our client in Merseyside is urgently looking to recruit a team of residential child care officers, to support child and young people with complex behavioural problems along with associated psychological needs.

Rotas are flexible to suite your lifestyle but working for this sector you will be required to work long days with attached sleeps in residential services across the Stoke. You will then be working as part of a team in actively promoting and encourage independence, self-sufficiency and life style choices that maximise potential and help attain positive outcomes for young people, in preparation of them leaving 'care'

Your exact duties may vary depending on where you work, but could include:
-getting to know clients, their interests and their needs
-helping clients with daily personal care such as washing, dressing, using the toilet and feeding themselves
-working with other health and social care professionals to provide individual care and development plans
-helping to organise leisure activities

Applicants will need at least 6 months experience in support of children and young people in a residential setting.
You need to have experience of working in special education (EBD, ASD)
Good knowledge of child care law and children's homes regulations
Are over the age of 21 to comply with OFSTED requirements

Successful candidates will be required to attend an interview at our Merseyside office to undergo full safer employment checks including an enhanced DBS Check.
Candidates are required to meet the cost of an enhanced DBS certificate at GBP53.00 (options).
This will be reimbursed after completion of the agree terms. Transferable enhanced DBS checks are acceptable.
