Head of Electronics Design Engineer

Head of Electronics Design Engineering with experience in motor drive controller, power supply units or firmware with C, MATLAB, microcontrollers and generic analogue and digital circuits experience required for a fantastic permanent career opportunity based in Inverness, SCOTLAND.

As the Head of Electronics Design Engineering you will be responsible for:
-Responsible for the design and commissioning of electronic solutions
-Responsible for conducting experiments and writing reports for new solutions
-Undertake technical investigations of anomalies found during device characterisation
-Implement electronic test solutions from given requirements
-Create schematics
-Oversee PCB layout
-Commission assembled boards
-Undertake technical investigations in the lab and report findings
-Complete work to deadlines or informing others when targets cannot be met
-Shares in knowledge dissemination, reporting, and communications
-Solicits input from other team members on technical issues
-Reinforces team approach throughout development activities

Required skills for this role are:
-Motor Drive Control and Power Control Experience
-Able to design electronic circuits
-Able to program in C, MATLAB
-Sound understanding of microcontrollers, generic analogue and digital circuits.
-Sound understanding of BLDC/PMSM motors and control theory
-A good logical approach to solving technical challenges
-Good practical skills including the soldering of 0603/0805 surface-mount components
-Previous experience using standard test instrumentation (DMM, oscilloscope etc,.)
-Must have had previous experience debugging electronic circuits
-Must have previous experience writing firmware for microcontrollers
-Experienced working within a team
