Application Support Engineer x2, Java, SQL, £28-37,000, Swindon, Wiltshire.

Key Skills:

- Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills.

- Must be comfortable working as an application support engineer, supporting a suite of enterprise software products.

- Some coding experience with Java or J2EE.

- Experience of issue tracking, fault-finding and problem solving.

- Knowledge of any Relational Databases e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server or MySQL etc.

- Knowledge or experience of any Application Servers e.g. Apache Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere etc.

- Strong customer focus.

- Computer related degree or equivalent in commercial experience.

- Must be eligible to work in the UK.


Nice to Have:

- Knowledge of any from the following will be an advantage;

- Web Services (e.g. JBOSS, SOAP etc.)

- Networking e.g. TCP/IP.
 

About the Role:

Your responsibility as an Application Support Engineer will include:

- Supporting enterprise software applications.

- Writing basic programming code offline to resolve complex support issues.

- Analysing and troubleshooting customer reported problems.

- Providing first line written / verbal consultation to debug customer problems of increasing levels of complexity.

- Work with other internal departments to discover and deliver solutions to a customer's problems.

- Utilizing test equipment and configurations for simulation of real problems.
