Job title: Finance Director - Global Synthetics and Prime Finance Europe
Overview:
The Global Prime Finance (GPF) business delivers innovative financing and prime brokerage solutions to the world's largest and most sophisticated managers. The business in Europe is split into Client Financing and Inventory Management and generates EUR 300-320m revenues per year. Financial Resource management is a key aspect of this business with a balance sheet of approximately EUR 40bn.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform a key business partnership function with the Global Head of Synthetics, senior desk heads and business managers in London and across regional locations.
- Offer guidance and challenge to the business on accounting and regulation impacts and risks International Financial Reporting Standards, Local and German Regulatory specifically Risk Weighted Assets, regulatory leverage, balance sheet and revenue recognition issues. Where appropriate you will liaise with Accounting Policy and Advisory Group, Global Valuation Group and Market Risk Management to obtain specialist advice.
- Support the sign-off in the New Product Approval system for the new trading as appropriate. The sign-off indicates the overall control environment is adequate to ensure legal, financial, and regulatory reporting requirements can be satisfied. This will require liaising with infrastructure groups inside and outside of finance.
- Conduct frequent meetings with stakeholders.
- Integrate the firm's internal and where applicable, third party capabilities.
- Facilitate new products and business model changes.
- Ensure all outputs are consistent with knowledge of the business, market environment and regulatory restrictions.
- Sign off on financial results and management information.
- Design new Management Information System reports to assist the business with decision making (in conjunction with off-shore Finance Intelligence team).
You will have:
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Experience in presenting data in a clear and concise manner to senior stakeholders.
- Experience in product control in Equities would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Financial Instruments and risk management within the context of Equities (especially derivatives).
- Experience working to tight deadlines.
- Post graduate qualification in accounting.
