IT Security Officer

A leading financial institution requires an IT Security Officer to join the expanding Security and Risk team. As IT Security Officer, you will support the delivery of 1st Line IT security responsibilities and provide support and guidance and monitor IT controls across the business.

Responsibilities

• Support the IT security manager to facilitate vulnerability scanning and penetration tests with external companies. Interpret results and report on findings to the relevant technical teams.
• Proactive monitoring and escalation of emerging technology and security vulnerabilities.
• First line monitoring of IT compliance with group security standards, ISO27001 and PCI DSS.
• Ensure that IT security risks are clearly articulated with appropriate mitigation plans.
• Provide subject matter expertise on projects from an IT security perspective.
• Oversight of shared service centre IT security policies, standards and processes with participation at the IT Security Group Meeting.
• Support the IT Security incident management & resolution process.
• Create, maintain and enhance working relationships with key contacts across the Society, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure delivery of functional plans.
• Take ownership of own development needs/personal objectives.

Experience

• Understand IT security concepts and be able to explain IT security principles to the business, which ensures peoples buy-in.
• Experience of assessing and supporting the design of IT security controls.
• Ability to complete tasks using own judgement.

Qualifications
Holds or is currently working towards:

• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
