Linux Infrastructure Engineer AWS - Start-up

Linux Infrastructure Engineer/DevOps (Linux CentOS Ubuntu Debian Cloud AWS Nagios).

Start-up software house is seeking a passionate Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join a small, talented team. The Linux Infrastructure for their Cloud based web and mobile service is running 76 virtual machines on CentOS, with plans for extensive expansion. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, continuously reviewing and enhancing a scalable IT infrastructure to meet the growth strategy.

You'll be working in a technology driven environment with a great deal of autonomy, assessing and making recommendations to enhance system performance, allowing you to choose the right tool for the job. Offices are City based, and offer a casual dress code and informal start-up environment.

Requirements:

• Strong Linux experience including CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian

• Experience of managing an infrastructure that powers large-scale web platforms (MySQL, Redis, Memcache, ActiveMQ, Tomcat)

• Good understanding of Nagios

• Experience monitoring Servers and applications, pro-actively ensuring it runs smoothly

• Excellent knowledge of network configurations including VLANs, VPNs, load balancers, Firewalls

• Good knowledge of Cloud based technologies including some/all of the following AWS, MAAS, Juju, OpenStack: Neutron (SDN), Cinder, CEP

• Strong communication skills
