Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer

Location: Hampshire, S041 6BA

Salary £30K - £35K

37.5 Hrs per week (Monday to Friday, day shifts)

Our client is looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to work as part of the engineering team supporting the Engineering Manager on medium to long term projects, whilst also providing support and advice to the small established team of Engineering Technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take projects from conception through to completion and final handover to production, this will include feasibility studies, production trials, costing and preparing capital expenditure requests.

  • Continuously looking at how to improve the safety and efficiency performance of the existing mixing and extrusion equipment (value engineering ), they will be competent in the FMEA process and will have a sound understanding of Lean principles.

  • Sound knowledge of modern engineering principles and practises in order to calculate MTTF, MTBF, and ensure we have the correct engineering spares to maximise the production efficiency in all areas of the plant.

  • Excellent problem solving skills and be fully conversant with the Ishigawa process to allow robust counter measures in place as a result of engineering equipment failure.

  • Excellent communication skills for both internal and external customers and suppliers and be able to communicate plans and ideas effectively to all levels.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and three years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Familiar with common manufacturing processes (Extrusion / Mixing ).

  • Extensive experience managing successful projects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness and ability to travel to both domestic and international locations.

  • Familiar with 3D CAD software

  • Working knowledge of MS Project.
