MI Developer - Herefordshire
This is a great opportunity for a MI developer to join a leading holiday and activity providers. You will be working within the MI team delivering essential management reporting to all of our internal customers. These reports deliver accurate information to all customers relating to groups booked on holidays, transport requirements and costs, revenue, forecasts, wages, customer feedback and staffing. This information aids all aspects of our business in making improvements, detecting trends and showing where we have problems. Currently this reporting is delivered via SQL Server Reporting Services and a custom data warehouse.
Main responsibilities:
- Utilise SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to deliver management reports to customers
- Use SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for Extra, Transformation and Loading (ETL) data transfer from source systems to data warehouse.
- Design and Development of data warehouse using best practices
- Capture requirements of new requests and understand what is to be achieved
- Capture requirements of existing reports and understand what is to be achieved with the change
- Speak with customers using technical and non-technical language accordingly
- Capture requirements of new requests and understand what is to be achieved

- Create technical documentation on systems and complex reports/dashboards
- Speak with customers using technical and non-technical language accordingly
Essential requirements:
- SQL Server 2008/2008R2/2012/2014
- SQL Server Reporting Services
- Strong personal organisation skills - ability and experience of effectively prioritising workloads and multi-tasking in a busy open plan office environment.
- Data Warehouse techniques, eg STAR Schemas
- SQL Server Integration Services
- T-SQL language and query optimisation
- Knowledge/experience of DBA tasks/roles
- The ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team and to adhere to strict deadlines
- Experience of working within an MI team
- Experience of working with database/source code versioning
- Good communication skills
