Senior Test Analyst with agile/digital experience required for exciting permanent opportunity with forward thinking public sector organisation in Edinburgh.
Duties will include:
* Follow testing processes and techniques across number of legacy and new application development projects, while carrying the following tasks:
* Analyse User Stories
* Develop Test Plans
* Develop Test Scenarios and Test Cases
* Prepare Test Data (when required)
* Collaborate on the test automation frameworks
* BDD development
* Work closely with Business Analysts and Developers on the developed solutions, providing feedback on the soundness of proposed solutions, ensuring they are fit for purpose
* Perform manual testing (exploratory and non-functional), record results and log defects
* Maintenance and or driving effort on bespoke test automation solutions
* Identification of areas where test automation could be beneficial
* Review results of automated tests and log defects
* Using experience, domain knowledge and risk based approach, split testing effort effectively into the functional, automated BDD test design, structured exploratory testing sessions and non-functional, UI, accessibility testing and security
* Support and work closely with the UAT test team, to ensure minimum level of test cases duplicity
* Evaluate quality of the product(s) under test and provide feedback to the team
* Continuously monitor/measure test coverage and improve test scenarios
* Provide test metrics and reports to Test Manager
* Provide feedback/input on the techniques, solutions and tools used throughout the projects
* Estimate test effort for user stories, sprints and projects
* Create and maintain online (JIRA) documentation on the testing environments
Experience required:
* Extensive testing experience
* Extensive Agile project experience
* Experience using Behavioural Driven Development approach to software development
* Understanding of structured test methods and processes
* Understanding of common software failures and faults
* Understanding of risk based approach to testing
* Understanding of value of test automation in the Agile environments
* Working knowledge of at least one programming language
* Ability to build and maintain or design and drive test automation framework
* Understanding of database concept and ability to write basic SQL queries
* Understanding of non-functional aspects of web application testing - such as UI, Accessibility, Security and Performance
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with JIRA and Linux
* Selenium WebDriver with one or more programming languages
