Job Description Overview

We are seeking a highly talented and experienced individual, ideally with a hands-on UK Military Logistics Management background coupled with a strong functional aptitude for Information Systems. This position requires the ability to work together with a team of functional logistics experts, software engineers and representatives of client organizations in the implementation of a comprehensive integrated Inventory Control and Supply Chain software solution.

The person in this role must display a combination of technical and business acumen and will be asked to use these skills in the implementation of integrated supply software solutions, which include business process analysis and mapping to software supported processes, requirements validation, data conversion mapping, test case creation and system testing and end-user functional support. The individual will work with other functional implementation specialists to provide implementation, training and support services to the customer.

Primary Duties and tasks:

  • Contribute in implementation projects ranging from departmental deployments to large enterprise engagements
  • Conduct business process assessment from existing practices to best industry practices
  • Document solution designs and functional requirements for customer specific requirements
  • Collaborate with the customer on requirements definition and providing solutions
  • Participation in the planning and management of data conversion efforts
  • Preparation and execution of test plans, test procedures and test data to validate that completed modifications fulfil the requirements of the initiating specification
  • Assist in supporting user acceptance test cycles
  • Support the client during final User Acceptance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Competencies

  • Working knowledge of managing and maintaining repairable spares
  • Thorough knowledge of stock planning including identification of depth and width of stock, stock level computations, and multi-echelon logistics support structures

Qualifications, skills and competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management or related field or at least eight (8) years equivalent work experience in UK Military, Government contractor or commercial aviation logistics administration
  • A minimum of 8 years of Supply Chain, materiel management and inventory control operations experience
  • Strong working knowledge of UK MOD Supply Chain systems (SCCS, SS3, CRISP, MJDI or similar) Acceptable non-military experience considered if gained as a MOD contractor providing Inventory Management or 3rd party Logistics services
  • Acceptable commercial inventory management experience may be considered if gained in organizations with high volume, enterprise supporting warehouses
  • Prior experience with MRO and supply software or ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, JDA in the Defence and/or aviation logistics systems arena is highly desirable
  • In addition, Military Logistics experience and knowledge, particularly in the supply, asset and materiel management areas, is highly desired.
  • Prior experience with unit, retail and wholesale levels of supply within the UK MOD area is highly desirable

  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Word, MS Excel, MS Visio .and MS PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated, requiring minimal oversight
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
