Position Summary

The Project Manager will work within the Business Change team. The Business Change team are responsible for providing a high quality project and change management service to the organisation, supporting an ambitious quality and growth agenda. The Project Manager is responsible for:

  • Planning, management and completion of projects in a variety of business units.
  • Providing input into industry wide initiatives that the organisation are involved in
  • Performing business analyst and project management tasks as required either as a lead or as part of a team.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Completion of project start up and initiation agreeing project objectives, scope and definition.
  • Develop, facilitate and manage the implementation of a project plan within the agreed project scope.
  • Identify and assess the benefits and risks/issues associated with projects and develop a plan to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
  • Development of benefits realisation plans.
  • Review of use cases and other technical documents with project teams to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documents.
  • Coordinate the development of all approved versions of business and functional requirements for specified applications.
  • Ensure that projects are managed according to the company's project and change management processes.
  • Produce relevant reporting and analysis to support project monitoring, management and closure, capturing recommendations/lessons for BAU operations and subsequent projects.
  • Ensure that all project documentation reflects status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements accurately reflect application features and functions.
  • Assess project performance, capacity and demand data to inform changes to project plans.
  • Produce stakeholder analysis and communication plans to ensure appropriate level of engagement for projects including making presentations to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage project budget and resource allocation
  • Act as the primary liaison point for stakeholders and others interested in the project.
  • Defines, develops and implements quality assurance practices and procedures.
  • Ensures that all tests are conducted and documented according to agreed standards.
  • Support the adherence to ISMS, security standards and security regulations

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Essential

  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Ability to matrix manage teams and individuals within internal and external organisations.
  • Experience with formal project management practices.
  • Knowledge of change management processes.
  • Ability to work with staff from internal and external organisations and at all levels of seniority
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Evidence of analytical, investigative and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work flexibly according to the requirements of the role
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise a varied and substantial workload
  • Proven track record of delivering IT projects
  • Experience of software development lifecycle
  • Firm understanding of IT Infrastructure terminology and technologies
  • Experience in budget management

Desirable

  • Ideally PRINCE 2 qualified
  • Experience of working within an ITIL or Agile environment
