PHP Developer - (PHP5, LAMP, Zend, MVC)

My client are seeking a talented PHP/LAMP web developer to join a growing team and help build a cutting-edge planning, reporting, analytics and business process tool. The role encompasses development, maintenance and support of the product.

The ideal candidate should have a passion for technology, be analytical in their thinking, possessing strong PHP5/MySQL development skills with a good understanding of MVC frameworks, namely Zend2, and testing (unit, functional and integration).

Key responsibilities

  • Taking an active role in the development life cycle
  • Working with Product Owner(s) to understand product requirements
  • Working with Senior Developers to develop a best in class product using latest frameworks and libraries

Required Skills

  • PHP5 - the candidate should have strong developer skills and be familiar with the latest features of the language
  • Object Orientated Programming - ideal candidate will be able to apply OO concepts to all their work
  • MVC - strong working knowledge of Zend2
  • Testing - good understanding of how to write test scripts for all work
  • MySQL - the candidate should have strong experience in writing SQL and have a keen interest in database design
  • HTML5 and good JavaScript frameworks knowledge - the ideal candidate should have good Front End development experience
  • Analytical thinking - the candidate must be able to understand a problem and be able to provide a solution
  • User experience - the candidate should be able to use design and usability to create an interface that is intuitive and useful
  • Self-starter - we are looking for someone who can get up to speed quickly without too much direction
  • Team player!
