My client is looking for a mid-level Web Developer based at their offices in Norwich. The ideal candidate must have a proven background in ASP.NET MVC (or other MVC framework), C#, VB.NET, HTML, Javascript and using SQL databases. Ideally they will have an understanding of jQuery, source control systems, NancyFX. Looking for someone who is a great team player with strong communication skills, keen to investigate new technologies and able to quickly grasp new concepts.

This is a hands-on role where the successful applicant will be given scope to use all their coding knowledge and skills to shape websites and online user experiences.

This is an important role within the Group's IT team and you will be expected to work closely with the Directors, Marketing Team, Managers and end users across the business to discuss and deliver new specifications.

Success in this role will be measured on the ability to plan, build and work to deadlines as well as to develop solutions that aid conversion rates and usability. It is important that candidates bring a commercial focus into the role. The role involves building new sites as well as supporting existing ones and responding to user queries.

Required Technical Skills

Proven background in:

  • ASP.NET MVC or other MVC framework
  • C# with an understanding of VB.NET
  • HTML standards and responsive designs
  • JavaScript, ideally with jQuery experience
  • Using SQL databases

Additional experience beneficial in:

  • Test driven development
  • Use of source control systems such as Git, SVN or TFS
  • Continuous integration
  • NancyFX
  • Understanding of ORM concepts
  • Dependency injection

Preferred:

  • An active GitHub account
  • A portfolio of projects

Required Personal Skills

  • A team player who has an excellent ability to work well with others
  • Good interpersonal skills, required for communicating with other members of staff
  • Excellent problem solving skills and a self-starter who is keen to investigate new technologies and suggest new ideas
  • Ability to quickly grasp new ideas and concepts as well as mentoring others
