R&D; Category Delivery Assistant

Description: About the role Category Hygiene, Personal Care, & Surface is the R&D function responsible for new and existing product development for Dettol/Lysol, Veet, Veja, Cillit Bang, Harpic, as well as other local brands in the Hygiene, Personal Care & Surface categories. The teams are based in three locations: UK, US and India and work closely with global category marketing teams, supply, procurement, regional/local marketing & commercial teams in order to deliver projects to against a brand development pipeline. Key Responsibilities - Assist in development of new formulations/technologies for specified projects based on relevant consumer insights in support of brand initiatives - Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques for working at the bench - Demonstrate understanding the product development process as it pertains to the R&D function -Prepare lab samples for testing and stability - Ensure adequate supply of materials to keep to timelines for development activities - Keep accurate records and effectively communicate results -Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key R&D stakeholders including reg., clinical, medical, pack and M&E - Coordinate raw material and supplier information - Manage release of samples for consumer and clinical tests - Data generation for product registration for submission to global regulatory agencies - Maintaining accurate laboratory notebooks - Support pilot scale-up and attend industrial trials, where required - Assist in developing and supporting new concepts and claims to contribute to pipeline - Interact with Global R&D personnel to share best practices - Follow safety and good housekeeping requirements. - Train lab personnel in basic functions of new hire, technician and temporary positions - Proper operation, standardization and maintenance of lab equipment - Provide technical support to other R&D functions as required - Contribute to team and continuous improvement initiatives Principal Accountabilities - Contributing to the development of consumer relevant technically superior formulations/products within cost target that are applicable for global needs or development of adaption for specific needs - Using scientific and technical skills to solve project associated problems - Supporting the delivery of key project milestones to required standards and timings - Communicating with and managing key stakeholders Qualifications: Qualifications Must have a degree in relevant scientific discipline Ideally proven experience in an FMCG company Proven analytical and problem solving skills in a practical environment Proven ability to successfully deliver as part of a team Appreciation of marketing and consumer issues that relate to the FMCG industry Knowledge of GMP laboratory practice ideal Key skills & Competencies - Results-oriented and self-motivated with good time management and organizational skills -Good verbal communication skills to effectively provide feedback to project teams or immediate supervisor - Good written communication skills for accurate data entry and concise lab reports - Strong attention to detail - A self-starter/self-motivated, seeking information from others to accomplish objectives -Ability to work under pressure -Ability to interact in cross-cultural/regional teams - Ability to display a degree of flexibility regarding changing project priorities - Strong interpersonal skills to nurture teamwork -Desire to learn, apply, and enhance skill set while seeking new opportunities - Proficient with common software, including MSOffice In return RB will offer a very competitive salary and benefits package as well as continued development and career progression on a Global scale.
