MECHANICAL/ QUALITY INSPECTOR

This is an opportunity for a proven Mechanical Inspector (CMM) to join a long established Precision Engineering Company based in Sunbury-on-Thames.The company currently deals with numerous industries including Aerospace, Defence and Motorsport.

As a Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the inspection department. You will interpret engineering drawings, specifications and standards in order to carry out accurate and timely dimensional checks of all manufactured products using the CMM and standard measuring equipment during 1^st off Inspection, Batch Inspection of work prior to sub contract operations and Final Inspection prior to despatch to the customer.

Role Specifics:

• To complete ‘Goods Inwards’ Inspection of materials using the company system.

• To accurately complete First Article Inspection Reports to Company or Customer requirements.

• To investigate causes of non conforming product and liaise with shop floor personnel, to resolve root causes.

• To prepare non conformance reports for all defective products and process the parts in accordance with company procedures.

• To recommend improvements to Quality or Production standards/processes to achieve improved quality.

  The Ideal Candidate:

• A recognised engineering apprenticeship preferred
• Time served as a CNC machinist preferred
• Experience in Aerospace and precision manufacturing environment with full understanding of ISO9001:2008
• Strong Quality Inspection experience with the proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and the use of mechanical measuring equipment and CMM
• Strong leadership skills and able to motivate others to promote continuous improvement throughout the company
