Nursing, Residential and Respite Care for the Elderly
POST: Registered General Nurse RESPONSIBLE TO: Home Manager
We are looking to recruit an RGN to work 24/ 36 hours - 2/3 nights a week.
Flexibility, team work and relevant qualifications are essential.
We are offering GBP14 - GBP15 per hour - 5.6 weeks Annual leave - We will pay for you to attend training and handover. Full development opportunities available. This is a permanent vacancy not a bank position.
Main roles and responsibilities:
- To take overall responsibility for all the clients within the home, both Residential and Nursing clients.
- To provide support and guidance to the team and ensure that all handover and checklists are completed.
- To be accountable for all work delegated to Senior Health Care Assistants and Care Assistants , ensuring that all staff are supported and are competent and capable of carrying out the role delegated to them.
- To demonstrate good communication skills, both verbal and written and ensure that clear and accurate record keeping and documentation is maintained.
- To liase with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- To promote good team working , leading the team by example and demonstrating good practice. When specific nursing duties have been completed you must work alongside the Carers and Assistant Carers to ensure that all required care is given to all clients.
- To adhere to the Medications Policy of Kimbolton Lodge Ltd and to ensure the safe administration of medication throughout the home, to both the Residential and Nursing clients.
- To build good, professional relationships with other RGNs, Doctors and Pharmacist
- To establish good, professional relationships with the clients and their families or significant others.
- To promote good communications between staff and residents.
- Implement procedures for emergencies, including fire, accidents and missing persons.
- To participate in the assessment of potential future residents as requested.
Care and Well Being of Clients :
- To ensure every client is involved in the development and implementation of an Individual Person Centred Care Plan, designed to meet their physical, emotional, social, spiritual and cultural needs and to review these regularly to address changing needs.
- To update care plans, review and change them according to assessed needs on a regular basis.
- To ensure that Carers are recording all care given throughout the shift.
