Our client is looking to appoint an Asset Administrator/Technician to work within the IT Team. The primary location for the role is Arborfield. This role requires Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
- The jobholder will report directly to the IT Team Leader at Arborfield Working as part of the job holders key accountabilities will be as follows:
- Liaison with computer users at all levels across the Authority Liaison with contractors and suppliers of IT equipment
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of all IT equipment on charge Coordinate IT equipment bookings and maintain equipment in a suitable condition for loan
- Update the register of IT assets ensuring the recording and processing of all assets is accurate
- Manage call logging and assist the site leads, ensuring all calls are owned, managed and completed within KPI timescales
- Provide user support whilst keeping staff informed of the status of their request for support
- Issue of new software and the upgrading of existing software as directed
- Installation, maintenance and disposal of desktop computers and printers
- Assist in the provision of an advisory IT "Help Line" service Advise staff on their use of standard IT applications
- Work with the procurement team to coordinate the effective and timely supply and distribution of IT consumables
Qualifications and Requirements
- Good general IT knowledge
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
- Desktop hardware and ancillary IT equipment experience Competencies
- Ability to produce clear and comprehensive documentation, as required Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem/solving abilities Strong work ethics, organisation skills and ability to work both independently and in teams
- Good numeracy, literacy and understanding of general administrative procedures
- Ability to facilitate and maintain excellent customer relationships
- Communicate effectively within the team, with other teams and across the Authority as a whole Provide support to the IT Team as necessary to effectively support the contract
