Summary
The Global Procurement function has existed for many years and is now evolving from a tactical purchasing function to a pioneering and strategic agent for business growth with the aim of achieving global recognition for best-in-class across a number of business areas.
Responsibilities:
- Help define and take ownership of the procurement categories, designing and implementing multi-year category strategies in the pursuit of best-in-class in addition to defining who the stakeholders are and ensuring they are fully involved in shaping the plan and bought into the strategy
- Engage with a senior stakeholder community, establishing and cultivating relationships to position procurement at the forefront of key business decisions and ventures
- Display an acute awareness of the business' priorities, which often go beyond mere cost-savings, being able to leverage wider commercial benefits for the company through risk mitigation, strategic vendor partnerships etc
- Skillfully manage the Cradle to grave procurement process from requirements gathering & definition to ITT, RFP, RFQ, supplier and contract negotiation and award, supplier relationship management (SRM)
- Mentor junior Procurement Executives, coaching and demonstrating best-practice procurement and category management
Experience Required:
- High Achieving and ambitious Procurement expert with the ability to delivery and run multiple work streams at the same time
- Degree educated, MBA and MCIPS preferred
- Strong experience in procurement, strategic sourcing and category management showing solid career progression from Buyer to Senior Procurement Manager within 5-10 years
- Solid experience in Vendor Management, Purchasing, Buying, Indirect procurement and Supplier Relationship Management across Technology and Professional Services
- Good communication skills; able to manage and influence stakeholders effectively
- Experienced and confident negotiator
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time
