Senior Software Engineer (Tech Lead) West London to £80k
Our client are the pioneers and global leaders in Efficient IT solutions. They’ve made it their mission is to identify unused IT, help remove it and optimize everything else. Their Efficient IT solutions help reduce servers, network bandwidth constraints, software licenses and energy consumption. To date, our client has helped more than 1,600 customers.
Main purpose of role/Position Summary:
To design and write high quality software to specification, on-time and on-budget. The Senior Software Engineer will be involved in all development lifecycle stages and support our external customers when necessary.
Job Responsibilities (up to 12):
1. Architecture and design of significant components within product suite.
2. Implementation of code to required standard in technology appropriate to product and domain.
3. Creation and maintenance of unit tests and other automation tests.
4. Liaison with QA to support testing and resolve issues identified by them.
5. Mentoring and support to junior members of the department.
6. Assisting the Support, Consultancy and SE teams to manage customer specific issues.
7. Take Lead role on a significant technical area and/or coordinate a project and project team
Key Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
· Track record in software product development, especially B2B products, in a fast moving IT environment.
· Strong experience in Enterprise-scale, secure, high-performance, high-availability COTS product development
· Experience in developing for Windows using C# to expert level
· Strong database understanding and development experience with SQL Server, 2008 and above
· Educated to degree level in a relevant subject (IT, Mathematics, Engineering) or equivalent substantial practical experience
Desirable:
· Unit testing, continuous integration and associated technologies, e.g. nUnit, NMoq
· TDD, BDD (with Specflow or similar)
· Azure – Web Roles / Worker Roles / Storage / Service Bus
· Web Services
· .NET (4+)
· ASP.NET Web API
· TCP/IP Networking
· Windows Architecture
· Windows and Network Security
· Win32 / COM
· Unix/Linux
· Objective C / Apple Mac development
· WMI
· WPF / WCF
· Dependency injection (e.g. AutoFac)
· Extensibility frameworks (e.g. MEF)
· Bootstrap
· HTML / CSS / JavaScript
· Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
· Working with off-shore teams
· Project/Code management software, e.g. TargetProcess, Git
