VLS Subsea Engineer

Reference: 16503 Start Date: Immediate Description: Job purpose: VLA Subsea Operations Project Engineer able to work as the Lead offshore with a rotation of 4 weeks offshore, 2 weeks in the office and 2 weeks leave within the Subsea Business Unit. The role is primarily a seconded support to CAPEX Projects. Reporting lines and interactions:

• Functionally reports to: Lead Subsea Operations Engineer and Subsea Operations Manager
• Directly supervises (operationally): Less experienced Project Engineers
• Key interactions (internally, externally): OIM, Lay Supervisors and Client Engineers

Profile: Must have:

• VLA Subsea Operations Engineer will normally have spent time previously working with subsea equipment and have had a prior involvement in the conduct of underwater engineering operations.
• A minimum 5 years relevant Subsea Engineering experience.

Nice to have:

• Engineering Degree.

Main accountabilities:

• Manage packages of work as agreed with Lead Engineer/Project Manager.
• Develop Subsea Engineering deliverables for work packages, typically installation Procedures and Reports.
• Monitor delivery & comment on third party technical deliverables.
• Identify purchasing requirements for work packages in a timely manner and develop requisitions to support purchases.
• Manage purchases and third party contracts as necessary to perform the work.
• Manage work package expenditure and commitments.
• Ensure that the impact/interaction of any offshore works are considered with other asset activities.
• Participate in onshore Safety Review/HAZID/Risk Assessment activities as part development of the work package.
• Ensure work package data/deliverables are compiled and filed in accordance with contract procedures.
• Represent client offshore during Interventions and ensure work scopes are performed to an acceptable standard.
• Provide Project Engineering support to execute projects from design through to offshore execution.
